Cancelled: Ireland’s Abbey Theatre to Perform Two Pints, a Play by Irish playwright Roddy Doyle, presented by Purdue Convocations and Nine Irish Brothers
Cancelled due to the government shutdown: The performers were unable to obtain their visas in time for the performance.
Locally owned Nine Irish Brothers, in conjunction with Purdue Convocations at Purdue University, is preparing for an extraordinary run of entertainment provided by Ireland’s National Theatre, The Abbey Theatre. Players from The Abbey will be performing the North American Premiere of Two Pints, a hilarious and bittersweet work from Roddy Doyle, who is known as the poet laureate of Ireland’s working class.
The play will be performed at Nine Irish Brothers on State Road 38 in Lafayette from February 8 to February 10. Limited tickets for this performance are available at the Purdue Convocations website (address below). Each general-admission ticket includes a traditional Irish dinner, and a cash bar will be available for dinner service and at intermission.
About Two Pints
Two Pints is a special, limited dinner engagement with six different performance dates and times. During the play, the audience will pull up a stool and be immersed in the conversation of two men who meet to chew the fat about various life topics ranging from North Korea to the afterlife to the finer qualities of a popular celebrity personality.
During the show dates, Nine Irish Brothers in Lafayette will be closed to the public; however, our location in West Lafayette will be open.
More information about the play is available at the Purdue Convocations website at https://www.purdue.edu/convocations/event/two-pints/
